In order to further increase the prevention and control of motor vehicle pollution, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangdong, Shaanxi, Anhui, Jiangsu and other provinces and cities have successively introduced policies that will implement the sixth phase of the national motor vehicle emission standards from July 1 this year. In response to the implementation of the National VI standard, Beiqi Foton Tuiano National VI medical examination vehicle was officially launched.

In May 2019, the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Shaanxi Provincial Public Security Department, and Shaanxi Provincial Market Supervision Administration jointly issued a notice on the implementation of the sixth phase of the national motor vehicle emission standard. It will be implemented on the 1st.

In response to some issues of public concern in the notice, the traffic police department explained.

The explanation points out that the light-duty vehicles in the circular refer to passenger vehicles, trucks (excluding three-wheeled vehicles and low-speed trucks), and special-purpose vehicles with a maximum design total mass of not more than 3,500 kg (inclusive). The heavy-duty vehicles in the notice refer to passenger vehicles, trucks (excluding three-wheeled vehicles and low-speed trucks), and special-purpose vehicles with a maximum design total mass of more than 3,500 kg. Due to different fuel types, the light vehicles mentioned in the notice include gasoline, diesel, gas and dual-fuel vehicles. Heavy-duty vehicles include diesel and gas vehicles.

The reporter learned that the circular requires that light vehicles sold and registered in the Guanzhong area (Xi’an, Tongchuan, Baoji, Xianyang, Weinan, Hancheng, Yangling Demonstration Zone, Xixian New District) should comply with the "Light Vehicle Pollution Limits and Measurement Methods for Chemical Emissions (China Phase 6)" (GB18352.6-2016) 6a standard requirements; sales and registration of heavy-duty vehicles for public transportation, postal services, sanitation and other urban uses shall comply with the "Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicle Pollutant Emissions Limits and measurement methods (China's sixth stage)" (GB17691-2018) 6a stage standard requirements.

All vehicles that have been purchased (subject to the date of the purchase invoice) that meet the requirements of the fifth-stage emission standards before the implementation date of the standard specified in the circular can continue to apply for vehicles within one month after the implementation date of the standard specified in the circular Registration procedures will not be processed after the expiry date. The ecological environment department is responsible for the explanation of the specific models, scope and other matters not covered in the notice. Violation of the provisions of the notice shall be investigated and punished by relevant departments in accordance with the law.
